Samauri Beach Festival
Saturday 2nd Feburary 2008
Another great day on Samurai beach. The festival was sponsered by CAVN, SSSC & Bare Tracks, other affliated clubs were ANF & River Island. It looked like the weather was going to spoil the day but, as all top nudist days are.... the weather turned out fantastic. Many weren't expecting the heat and the sun managed to sting a few people, leaving them with some lovely sunburn to look after. The water temp was great, allowing many of us to take a nice dip or wrestle the surf whatever you choose it was all good. The life savers were on hand to help out for anyone that many have had a stroke of trouble, the day was all ok... The festival managed to raise $150.00 for the life savers "thanks for those who volunteered their time".
For all the other people who did not manage to get there, due to weather decision.... lets hope you can make it next year.

Swim Night- Saturday 8th December.

Saturday 10th November 2007- swim night
"MELBOURNE CUP THEME NIGHT"

Well, if you thought Flemington was the place to be for the race that stops the nation.... You were wrong!
CAVN held their own Melbourne cup theme night on Saturday 10th of November, and what a night it was.
There were hats, feathers, jockeys and anything else that even vaguely resembled a horse.
The night consisted of good food, great conversations in and out of the pools and the odd pool pony race. Micheal thought his pool croc could beat the ponies, but that was not the case. Kristie's mare took on the young guns, Amy and Diana. However it was Amy's great swimming that took her and her pony across the finish line. Kristie and her mare retired back to the stables, for a recovery drink and cupcake.
So over all the night was another hit. Many of our members were leaving the race track with thoughts of their next theme night to attend next month.
Hope to see you all there.
Birdie Beach Picnic Day 14/10/07
What a day! Glorious weather, clear water & great surf.
We certainly had a top day. A great turn out from plenty of our members and guests. Also good to see members from other assosiated clubs. "We hope you also enjoyed!"
There was plenty of good conversation, with a friendly game of footy, along with the good old frizbee or a quite little snooze. There was something for everyone. With plenty of shade provided thanks to Ian & his tarp, it was a comfortable day for all.
It was great to see some new faces. We hope to see you all again at our next meeting on the 10th of Nov. Flyers were also handed out, so that more people are aware of this great socialable club we have.
It was good to see some expressions of interest, from couple, families and singles. Birdie was absolutely thriving today..... Great amount of singles, couples and families (it's always good to see that!)
Sarah from Australian Sun and Health, to take a few photos and information away with her featured article on our club & Birdie Beach.
Look out of it in later issues. "Thanks Sarah".
With a very successful day, we hope to plan another one in the not too distant future. Keep an eye out in the Upcoming events.

Saturday 13th "HAWAIIAN THEME NIGHT" swim night.

"WOW" what a night! There were loads of Leis, hawaiian shirts and a few grass skirts. Thanks everyone of making a real effort. It was definately a fun and bright night.
With everyone enjoying themselves the atmosphere was pumping. People were talking, laughing, swimming and eating.
The night started with an arrangement of nibbles along with a fruit punch, in a fun filled hawaiian decked night. Thanks to Kristie, Ray and Chris for endless cutting out of art work.
Next all were served with dinner, a combination of Beef kebabs, fried rice, pineapple fritters & pasta salad. Chris then announce the awards for the best dressed, which was won by "Amy" for best dressed female and "Gilbert" for best dressed male. Great work guys and to everyone who participated, it definately made the night.
Next Chris presented Gilbert with a "Lifetime membership" award, on behalf of the club for all his hard work as previous president and founder of the C.A.V.N club. Congratulations Gilbert.
With more fun in the pool the night was nearing the end, with that jelly cups "hawaiian style" was served.
It certainly ended with many happy members and guests, all realising how quicky time flys when your having fun! Many were heading home or to motels to get a good night rest, to join us on Birdie the next day.
Would like to thank the committee for helping make the night a great success.

Kiata Open Day 26th November
The Kiata open day had a sizable turnout by both the SSS ,
club C.A.V.N.
as well as some members of the general public
spent the day enjoying them selves.
The crew from Kiata gave us all a guided
tour of all the facilities of the country club,
and the highlight being a leisurely afternoon
down relaxing beside and
swimming in the Dam, with a
sausage sizzle laid on to cap off
the afternoon. It was a bit sad to see the day
coming to an end and the
not so popular long trip home.
It was a most enjoyable day and
one could say the crew from
Kiata were very good at making new
friends and entertaining new visitors to their
fantastic family oriented club.
