September Swim Night Theme

"Western"

Another fun filled night... There were cowboys, cowgirls even a Indian... Great to see our members having fun, there were even a few new faces to our line up of contestants.  With the balloon filled room and some country music the theme was set.  People soaked themselve in our hot pluge to relax with easy conversations, tummys were filled with an arrangment of pizza's, followed by some fresh watermelon donated by Tanya and Dave, thanks guys!  Thanks to young Amy who gave up her time to help with some of the behind the scene stuff.  Thanks Wallie for supplying the music and lighting, it help set the mood.  Overall another great night and we hope to see you all there for Halloween theme night in October.

CAVN visits Paradise Nudist Farm - Tumbi Umbi

Sunday 20th June 2008.

Well... once again the rain threatened another one of CAVN's social outings.  Yet there were still a few of us that bared all in the cool, overcast day.  John and Trevor A got things moving by stacking the timber for the wood fire BBQ.  While Barry tried to set himself up with his fold out deck chair...it seemed his chair had other plans (maybe a bit more level land would help next time Baz).  Fred was off looking for any photo oportunities while Chris, Trevor and John cleared the site a little more .Trevor cleaned down the old cast iron hot plate ready for us all to throw on our snags, onions and eggs (thanks to John's little friends the Chooks)....  Kerry arrived just in time to join us for lunch after well lets say a scenic tour around Tumbi Umbi...and what more Kristie was off chasing the kids, who too were chasing the chooks.  While we all enjoyed some tucker... the heat from the wood fire was enough to allow us to strip off and enjoy what we were all there for... a good ol' nude day out with nature.  Johns place is truly amazing loaded with character, scenes overlooking the Tuggerah lakes right out to the high rised Enterance.  Bell birds singing all day long, there are rusty tractors all around the 40 aceas which makes for great photo opportunities and great for the kids to play on.  So what more needs to be said... we had a top relaxing day and the rain held off for 4hrs.

Thanks John... hope to do it again soon.

Saturday 12th April

Australian Theme night

Well what a night... What a turn out 93 people including kids... Amazing, thank you to all who came.  It was a little crowded but with the entire swim centre buzzing no one really seemed to mind.  The hot pluge pool was getting a real work out.  The conversations were streaming.

We could not have let the night go without some aussie fun!  So the good ol' thong throwing competition was invented.  People lined up on their starting blocks loaded with their thong and with the sound of the whistle the thongs were tossed across the 25m pool.  Thanks to the help of a few littlies scooping up the thongs for yet another round.  The crowd were completely entertained, whilst the winners took their medals.  With the completion of the thong event, next was time to judge the best dressed award.  People lined up ready to win the nightly prizes.  The crowd again were there to shout and cheer for who they thought was the best dressed for what little they had on!  The crowds favourite was Sue for her vegemite outfit and Neil with his all aussie BBQ outfit. Sue and Neil took home some nudie coffee mugs for their prizes. (Thanks to Kerry for your donation).

So yet another terrific night!  We hope to see you all next month...

Cobblers Beach Day

2nd March 2008

"Clean up Australia Day"

(photos taken on the day)

Well, again the rain wanted to ruin our fun!  But it clearly did behave by the time the first group of people arrived at 11.00am.

The hike down to the beach was a little slippery but well worth the visit.  The harbour was filled with boats and yahcts taking advantage of another beautiful day on Sydney's water.  Chris, myself and the kids managed to take the clean up bags and gloves down the steep track, we were soon joined by a few other members of the club.  After settling on the beach and a quick dip in the water, slightly on the cooler side I may say. We then got started on cleaning up the beach... Well not much was collected a few bottles, papers, wrappers, a tong and pillow were a few things managed to be extracted from the rocks all from the wash.  The main thing collected was cigerette butts.... something that really infuriates me.  If you are going to smoke on the beach it is beyond me why people can't pick up there butts and put them in the bin...most beaches are supplied with bins from local councils or national park officers.  So please consider taking your rubbish with you... it's the only way we can keep our beaches and waterways clear of rubbish and really enjoy the beauty of this wonderful country.

Sorry it was a very quick chat Bruce B...hope you enjoyed the afternoon sun.

We hope to see you all next time on our local beach 'Birdie"

Thanks again to all that participated, hope you enjoed your day and didn't get too burnt.

Kristie.

Saturday 9th February 2008

Masquerade Party night.... A night of Mystery!

What a night!  It really was the night for many new people to come along to one of CAVN theme swim nights.  We had a great turn out, lots of couples.... And masks, well... even some of our first timers gave it a go! The pool was filled with balloons, which enticed people start hitting around the swim centre, some tried using them to practise their aqua golf moves (using a pool noodle and balloon) & of course some just used them as their own floatation device.  With another great fun social night the night ended up with a friendly game of volley ball in the pluge pool, with many new visitors getting quite invloved with the evening.

A special thanks goes to Gilbert and Fred C for helping Chris & Kristie set up for the event, it was greatly appreciated.  To everyone who bring their masks, thankyou for making it another fun night.

Look forward to seeing you all for another enjoyable night in March.

Samauri Beach Festival

Saturday 2nd Feburary 2008

Another great day on Samurai beach.  The festival was sponsered by CAVN, SSSC & Bare Tracks, other affliated clubs were ANF & River Island.  It looked like the weather was going to spoil the day but, as all top nudist days are.... the weather turned out fantastic.  Many weren't expecting the heat and the sun managed to sting a few people, leaving them with some lovely sunburn to look after.  The water temp was great, allowing many of us to take a nice dip or wrestle the surf whatever you choose it was all good.  The life savers were on hand to help out for anyone that many have had a stroke of trouble, the day was all ok... The festival managed to raise $150.00 for the life savers "thanks for those who volunteered their time".

For all the other people who did not manage to get there, due to weather decision.... lets hope you can make it next year.

 "MELBOURNE CUP THEME NIGHT"

Well, if you thought Flemington was the place to be for the race that stops the nation.... You were wrong!

CAVN held their own Melbourne cup theme night on Saturday 10th of November, and what a night it was.

There were hats, feathers, jockeys and anything else that even vaguely resembled a horse.

The night consisted of good food, great conversations in and out of the pools and the odd pool pony race.  Micheal thought his pool croc could beat the ponies, but  that was not the case. Kristie's mare took on the young guns, Amy and Diana.  However it was Amy's great swimming that took her and her pony across the finish line.  Kristie and her mare retired back to the stables, for a recovery drink and cupcake.

So over all the night was another hit.  Many of our members were leaving the race track with thoughts of their next theme night to attend next month.

Hope to see you all there.

Birdie Beach Picnic Day 14/10/07

What a day!  Glorious weather, clear water & great surf.

We certainly had a top day.  A great turn out from plenty of our members and guests.  Also good to see members from other assosiated clubs.  "We hope you also enjoyed!"

There was plenty of good conversation, with a friendly game of footy, along with the good old frizbee or a quite little snooze. There was something for everyone.  With plenty of shade provided thanks to Ian & his tarp, it was a comfortable day for all.

It was great to see some new faces.  We hope to see you all again at our next meeting on the 10th of Nov.  Flyers were also handed out, so that more people are aware of this great socialable club we have.

It was good to see some expressions of interest, from couple, families and singles.  Birdie was absolutely thriving today..... Great amount of singles, couples and families (it's always good to see that!)

Sarah from Australian Sun and Health, to take a few photos and information away with her featured article on our club & Birdie Beach.

Look out of it in later issues. "Thanks Sarah".

With a very successful day, we hope to plan another one in the not too distant future.  Keep an eye out in the Upcoming events.

Saturday 13th "HAWAIIAN THEME NIGHT" swim night.

"WOW" what a night!  There were loads of Leis, hawaiian shirts and a few grass skirts.  Thanks everyone of making a real effort.  It was definately a fun and bright night.

With everyone enjoying themselves the atmosphere was pumping.  People were talking, laughing, swimming and eating.

The night started with an arrangement of nibbles along with a fruit punch, in a fun filled hawaiian decked night.  Thanks to Kristie, Ray and Chris for endless cutting out of art work.

Next all were served with dinner, a combination of Beef kebabs, fried rice, pineapple fritters & pasta salad.  Chris then announce the awards for the best dressed, which was won by "Amy" for best dressed female and "Gilbert" for best dressed male.  Great work guys and to everyone who participated, it definately made the night.

Next Chris presented Gilbert with a "Lifetime membership" award, on behalf of the club for all his hard work as previous president and founder of the C.A.V.N club.  Congratulations Gilbert.

With more fun in the pool the night was nearing the end, with that jelly cups "hawaiian style" was served.

It certainly ended with many happy members and guests, all realising how quicky time flys when your having fun!  Many were heading home or to motels to get a good night rest, to join us on Birdie the next day.

Would like to thank the committee for helping make the night a great success.

Kiata Open Day 26th November

The Kiata open day had a sizable turnout by both the SSS ,
club C.A.V.N.
as well as some members of the general public
spent the day enjoying them selves.
The crew from Kiata gave us all a guided
tour of all the facilities of the country club,
and the highlight being a leisurely afternoon
down relaxing beside and
swimming in the Dam, with a
sausage sizzle laid on to cap off
the afternoon. It was a bit sad to see the day
coming to an end and the
not so popular long trip home.
It was a most enjoyable day and
one could say the crew from
Kiata were very good at making new
friends and entertaining new visitors to their
 fantastic family oriented club.
